The launching ceremony of the RCEP (Dalian) International Business District was held on Tuesday in Dalian area of China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which is located in Dalian City of northeast China's Liaoning Province, reported Liaoning Daily.
Six projects were signed at the opening ceremony, including a Sinopec RCEP international cooperation project on hydrogen energy and a Haier air conditioning manufacturing project for exporting to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, among others.
With an aim to promote the opening-up of northeast China to members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the newly-launched business district integrates multiple functions including a base of RCEP enterprise headquarters, an economic and trade promotion center and an enterprise service center, and is planned to be put into use in October this year.
Covering a total area of 32,000 square meters, the district will mainly serve foreign investment enterprises in the RCEP region and companies that engage in business exchanges with RCEP members, attracting those in the high-end service sector including trade, settlement, finance, R&D and design to gather their headquarters in the district.
The district will create a one-stop service platform for RCEP-related enterprises with various functions such as demonstrations by country, professional services, communications and interactions, market expansion, trade facilitation and commercial laws, forging itself into a new window for RCEP members entering the Chinese market, and a new frontier for the participation of China's northeast region in the RCEP.
