International Symposium "Grasping the New Era of China's Development", co-hosted by the Silk Road Cities Alliance and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, also took place at Park Hyatt Beijing on the same day. For the conference invited were nearly 100 representatives from the government, academic institutions, major business associations, foreign diplomatic circles in China. The main aim was to jointly study the reports of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (NPC), discuss new features to be presented in the "new era", and explore them from the points of view of politics, economics, culture, diplomacy and national defense. The impact of the "new era" of China on the outside world was discussed along with the opportunities and challenges it faces. The two organizers pooled their diplomatic and public resources, and with the support of embassies and business enterprises of countries along the Silk Road, jointly contributed to the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative and the international cooperation among the countries along the Belt and Road.

Silk Road Cities New Energy Application International Summit Forum
Hosted by Silk Road Cities Alliance and SRCA’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Alliance, Silk Road Cities New Energy Application International Summit Forum was held on the same day. Domestic and overseas specialists, diplomatists and business representatives were invited to have a deep discussion of the application of new energies in Silk Road cities, the popularization and utilization of renewable energy, the protection and improvements of bionomics environment and construction of the new strategy in 21st century of high-efficiency and low-carbon energy.
Silk Road Cities New Energy Application Committee was found during the forum. Li Zhenji, the founder of Vice Chair Person and Secretary General of WFCMS unveiled the plaque of the committee. Mr. Zhang Yaozhong, the chairman of board of Hubei Norton Thermal Holding Group Co., Ltd. was elected the first President of the committee. The committee will provide strategic guidance of the direction for Chinese new energy enterprises going-abroad and essential information during the process of cooperating with local enterprises according to the energy policies among Silk Road countries. In this way it can help pioneers of Chinese enterprises seize the opportunity, promoting developments of new energy enterprises in Silk Road countries.
Hubei Norton Thermal Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences Strategic also signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement at the forum.
Former Prime Minister of Italy Mr. Massimo D’Alema, Founder of Silk Road Cities Alliance Mr. San Yuan, Senior Energy consultant of Asian Development Bank Mr. Shen Yiyang and other famous scholars, specialists and businessmen from new energy area attended the forum together and shared their opinions.
